As I am very interested in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), I felt so fortunate to be able to attend the White House Astronomy event on October 19th, 2015. I met some very cool and friendly Girl Scouts from the D.C. area and we participated in the different events the White House offered that night. I was also so thrilled to get to see President Obama speak. To be in his presence was brilliant. I was so in awe of the scientists, astronauts and other speakers that were present at the White House. I even got to take a selfie with Bill Nye the Science Guy!
I love learning about STEM and hope to one day become a scientist working for NASA. I appreciate all the wonderful opportunities that Girl Scouts has given me and hope to continue being involved in more fun events like this.
